Complex Event Processing via M3O Analytic Server

M3O Analytic Server contains a sophisticated Complex Event Processing (CEP) engine that enables a wide array of powerful analytical capabilities, allowing organizations to analyze, understand, and act upon information in real time. These capabilities include in-time event capture, detection, filtering, pattern matching, aggregation, predictive analytics, trending, forecasting, multi-dimensional and what-if analysis, and correlation of real-time information and historical data.

M3O Analytic Server’s CEP engine provides direct live connectivity to real-time events coming from traditional and non-traditional enterprise sources, including database transactions, enterprise applications, RSS feeds, sensors, JMS, and web services. This provides business analysts with instantaneous business analytics and up-to-date views of Key Performance Indicators, providing insight when minutes and seconds matter. The CEP engine can send key events, analysis, and alerts to the M3O Business Process Server to respond dynamically to threats and opportunities without requiring any human interaction.

M3O Analytic Server contains a Query-based CEP engine, utilizing XML (the native language of business applications both within the enterprise and across the internet) and XQuery as its modeling and query language. Why does this matter? Because unlike other CEP technology, M3O Analytic Server does not need to alter the native XML language to process information. This is critical for delivering quick, clean analysis of information from a variety of sources. Not only does this make the M3O Analytic Server exceptionally efficient, but it also eliminates unnecessary data transformation steps that could introduce errors. By reading and analyzing XML – the native language of business applications both within the enterprise and across the internet – M3O Analytic Server delivers true insight to business analysts in real time.

The M3O Analytic Server can also query enterprise data stores and applications via SQL, and combine with real-time event data to provide trending and comparison against historical information.
