Job Roles (Duties & Responsibilities)

• Self-starter who can take on the analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of Vitria Applications from UI front end to the backend integration and data access.
• Owns one or more application modules for the full development lifecycle.
• Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
• Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
• Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives.
• Builds the product through software development, delivery, implementation, maintenance and testing.
• Actively explores new technologies that might improve the product.
• Generates important innovations that profoundly improve the product.
• Keeps the product on the cutting edge. Has influence across multiple product components.
• Communicates with organizations outside of engineering.
• Has expertise with multiple product components and can use product components as they were meant to be used.
• May have expertise in multiple solutions areas.
• Can generate finished design documents that incorporate complex, novel ideas.
• Has a track record of innovative design, implementation and deployment.

Job Requirements (Technical skills, years of relevant experience, education, certification, etc.):

• M.S or B.S. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 1-5 years programming experience, with a focus on Java programming and UI development in either Flex or AJAX
• A minimum of 1-5 years experience with XML.
• A minimum of 1-5 years experience using either Oracle, DB2 or SQLServer.
• A minimum of 1-5 years experience using either Solaris, AIX or HP/UX.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Prior experience with Flex is a big plus.
• Prior experience with Enterprise Application Integration is a plus.
